PLANT ADAPTATIONS
Plant Adaptations Definition of Plants Adaptation: It is a phenomenon in which plants develop unique structural and functional features that allow them to successfully live in a particular habitat. Xerophytes- Plants adopted dry to climate. Ex- Cactus Mesophytes- Plants which require moderate amount of moisture. Ex- Temperate meadow plants Hydrophytes- Plants which grows in water. Ex- Lotus, water Lilly etc. Tropophytes- Plants which acts as hydrophyte in one season and Xerophyte in the other. Ex- Pineapple Halophytes- Plants which grows in saline environment. Ex- Date palm Saprophytes- Plants which lives in decaying organic matter. Ex- Mushroom Zoophytes- An animal which resembles a plant.
